Extended Level 3 Diploma, Music Production, Engineering and Theory

Focus:

• Musical hardware engineering, with access to technologically advanced equipment, software and studio space
• Musical theory, being taught by some of the most renowned and respected teachers in the industry
• Musical production & composition, which was a practical feat of my learning in musical theory

This background helped me understand how complex systems interact and resolve, and how to create elegant solutions that 'flow'. It taught me to think in terms of patterns, relationships and the mathematical beauty that underlies not just music, but all things computational. This is the backbone of all of my work.

Dissertation: "Ergogenic Effects of Music in Sauna Usage" - achieved a 12.59% increase in ability to sustain sauna usage whilst listening to music, compared to a control group.

BSc (Hons) Biochemistry (dropped out after year 1)

University of Reading • Sep 2022 - May 2023

Focus:

• Laboratory techniques, including mass spectrometry and chromatography
• Molecular biology and chemistry, including protein structure and function, and drug design
• Mathematical modelling and statistical analysis, including regression analysis and hypothesis testing

My transition from Music Production to Biochemistry wasn't as dramatic as it might seem. Both fields require understanding how individual components interact to create something greater than the sum of their parts. I chose to drop out due to a mix of financial strain, and a lack of passion for the subject. My mind is more computational than chemical, and I didn't see myself making use of the skills I had, and would've learned.
